چکیده
well known and popular a work as Kinger's " Hand-book of therapeutics," to point out tliat it contains several additions which makes its possession desirable even if previous editions are in hand. One novel feature is a brief sketch of the symptoms of disease from a therapeutic point of view?of the indications for treatment afforded by the tongue, pulse, skin, temperature, &c. This is very well done, and these introductory sections are full of valuable practical hints. The tomi is sometimes dogmatic, and indeed throughout the work, dogmatism is frequently encountered, but in the present empirical phase of therapeutics a little dogmatism is pardonale if not unavoidable. It is right to state however that the author endeavours to put the reader in possession of the most recent researches regarding the physiological and therapeutical action of drugs and to explain drug action wherever that is possible on the basis of observation and
